As a mom and teacher it is imperative that you have some "me" time. I know, it sounds self serving. Develop this time to increase your spiritual and physical well being. I did not do this the first year I home schooled. Let me tell you I was one cranky Mama and school was no longer enjoyable to my daughter or me. The second year I implemented this routine and the difference was amazing! This is my suggestion to keep my mood and energy up!
Make time for daily Bible readings and devotionals. I am not an early riser so my time for this is in the evenings which helps to turn the TV off!
Each day my kids have a rest time for about 1- 1.5 hours in the afternoons. They do not have to take a nap but they must "rest" on their beds with books and toys. A timer is set and when it goes off rest time is over. During rest time you are not allowed to clean or work in any way. This is a time to pray, read a book, take a nap, complete devotionals, drink a cup of coffee/tea, take a shower, or do a hobby (knitting, scrap booking, drawing, gardening ect). Remember the activity you choose must be rejuvenating to you and not a chore that must be done. Taking this rest time helps you revive for the second half of the day.
Exercise is another important aspect that you need to implement. If you don't have a routine yet then just start out 1 day a week. I have a Netflix account and there are many different workout videos on instant streaming. Many times I take 30 minutes of the rest time and workout. If you are an early morning riser most PBS stations have exercise programs on. Include the kiddos in exercise too. It can be as simple as taking a short walk each day or dancing for 30 minutes.
