1st Grade Lesson 1

PE: Get outside and play!  Or put on music and dance if the weather isn't good.
Bible and Prayer: Read Luke Chapter 1
Buy a small American Flag and start to learn the Pledge of Allegiance
Review the Date:  Example: Today is Monday, the 1st of September

Reading: Now that you have basic skills it is time for your 1st grader to shine!  Get simple readers such as Rod and Staff (no online ordering) or the series by Florence M. Lindstrom (for the beginning of the school year I highly recommend this series or a series like it.  When ordering it states that it is for grade K but it really built up my daughters confidence at the beginning of her 1st grade school year).  Go through each story until your child can read them confidently!

Art/Music: These suggestions come from Amblesideonline.org.  Some of their pictures which they choose I do not agree to expose younger children to.  I will have a link of a suggested picture that I like.  However, do not hesitated to go to the library and look up these famous men and women.  Great Stuff!
